Goodnight Mr.Tom by M. Magorian
The enemy by Charlie Higson
The enemy is full of action and suspense. It has happy and sad moments when you can even feel the sadness of the characters. Blood and suffering are the main themes but there are other little things that makes 'The Enemy' a great book. It gives an idea of how our daily life would be without adults, fighting for survival. It is a horror story. The second part of this trilogy is titled "The dead" , the third one will be published this summer.

Dognapped by Karen King
This book is a really good book to read because it has all the ingredients that a good book needs to have. It is about an american girl who goes to live with her english granny who has a dog that is very fussy. One day when the girl is watching TV, the dog disappears, so the girls starts to act like a detective and goes to look after the dog asking the neighbours. I think this book should be read by girls more than boys but if a boy wants to read it, it is OK. There are some podcats in the web which reveal key clues to help you solve the mystery.

The Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins
This is a futuristic book which is a bit pessimistic about how the future is going to be. The world is divided in 12 districts and ruled by Capitolium. Every year two teenagers from each district are forced to participate in the Hunger Games. They are all taken to the Arena and they have to fight for their lives, only the winner will survive. Everything is televised.
The book has lots of action and it is really intense.
Read it, you won't be able to put it down. (9Y)
The second part is called " Catching fire" . You can listen to a sample chapter read by the author in the official webpage
