It is actually a trilogy, about people who see numbers in people's eyes, not random numbers, but the date of their death. When Jem notices that the numbers of all the people around her are the current day, she deduces there will be an accident and runs with her best friend Spider. And so an epic chase around the country begins as secret services notice her fleeing from the crime scene and decide to bring them in for questioning.
